I’m drawing all the Earthbound enemies (plus some miscellaneous sprites) but badly. Here’s the third one, Worthless Protoplasm. This was requested by stupid_bo.

Stayed up passed midnight playing earthbound last night, then woke up to this in the mailbox! Happy b-day!

Could you somehow put my save data and mother 3 ROM onto a GBA cart?

Is there a way for me to transfer my save data and mother 3 rom to a gba cart so i can continue my game on my game boy micro?

so i'm playing earthbound right now, and when I encounter an enemy "weaker" than me, it just glitches and cuts to ness gaining Exp in the overworld. is it intentional or what?

Just beat Earthbound after nearly 2 years!

    It was really fun!

I had already started Earthbound Beginnings, but it's been tedious and not as enjoyable at the beginning of the game (just got lloyd).

While it would be awesome to play the whole series, I'm not really having as much fun rn. Does it get better as you play or should I skip it and just play Mother 3?

What do you think about the "grinding" in MOTHER games?

    Posted: 06 Jun 2020 12:38 PM PDT

Did you like fighting some of the less important enemies repeatedly in the caves/paths between towns, etc? I usually prefer shorter games (like 8-15 hours) and didn't finish Earthbound initially due to the length, though I did finish it later and loved it. I'm working on a RPG that is Earthbound inspired, and I'm just starting to map out fights and levels. I was initially planning on having 1 fight each with like 60 unique enemies, but I'm starting to wonder if I should also have repeated fights with robots/bugs/wild animals in between story sections. I know that Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass (another earthbound inspired game) had repetitive enemy fights listed as a con in a lot of reviews, and I want to avoid that.

TLDR - What did you think about fighting less important enemies in the MOTHER games? / How much grinding is too much in an RPG?
