    The guy abanodoned his wife so he could leak sensitive alien information. You could say it was to further scientific development on Earth, but through raising Giegue, humanity was already on good terms with the aliens. For all we know, they would have allied with the humans eventually had George not stolen their information.

    The guy started a dang war because he just had to be the best leaker in the galaxy.

    So, I am usually against going full tin-foil hat and speculating about the MOTHER series, considering it's been dead for a long time now, and seeing constant predictions of "this year for sure" with nothing ever happening gets tiresome after a while.

    But, for the first time in who knows how long, there is genuine evidence to suggest that something related to MOTHER is in the works, rather than just speculation. Of course, there's a lot of speculation in this post too, but that's just how it is with the limited amount of information available.

    First of all, we have the recent request for fans to submit ideas for a cartoonist who'd work well for the MOTHER series. This alone could be multiple things, even something relatively mundane like another MOTHER calendar, but the fact that they explicitly state to not ask what it's for, and that they can't reveal details yet, hints at it being something at least a little bit more surprising.

    Secondly, and this is the big one, Shogo Sakai (The composer of MOTHER 3, has also done other work with Nintendo IPs) was recently asked to an interview with MOTHER Forever, a new MOTHER community that's been growing a lot lately. However, in contrast to his responses in the past, he now states that he cannot answer any questions relating to Nintendo IPs. This is a recent change. According to the owner of MOTHER Forever, this change happened around 5 months ago.

    He was okay with talking about Nintendo IP related stuff before then, too. (These screenshots are taken from this subreddit's Discord server. By the way, you should join it. Biggest MOTHER-related Discord server.)

    So what does this suggest? Well, a possibility is that these two things are connected, and that something MOTHER-related is in the works. Whether it be a new game, remasters, an English release of MOTHER 3, or even something small (because those are all, of course, byproducts of wishful thinking and unlikely to happen.).

    TL;DR: Hobonichi recently asked on Twitter for fans to submit ideas for a good cartoonist for the MOTHER series, yet also stated that they can't/won't answer questions as to what it's for. Around the same time, Shogo Sakai, composer of MOTHER 3, has suddenly become unable to answer questions related to Nintendo IPs. These two things, if at all related, hint at something related to MOTHER being in the works. But it's not necessarily something big, so stay skeptical as well.
