    Why I think mother 2 (which I prefer to call Earthbound) failed in the U.S.

    I personally think that mother 2 failed in the U.S. because Nintendo only advertised the game in a commercial and Nintendo power. In other words, they were treating the game badly, so no one was interested. Aside from that, it was released at a weird point (1996), so people were more interested in super Mario 64 (the only N64 launch title I can think of). And the funny thing is, it did better on the Wii U which was a huge commercial failure.

    Do you think the reason they put Strategy Guides with Earthbound was because of confusing stuff like this?, like I imagine the US Commercial (if there were ever was one, still hoping) telling that "This Game is so Weird that we added a Strategy Guide just to understand it all"

    Its a 1st party title, and earthbound was localized. I dont see any reasons not to put it there, or earthbound beginnings, it was on the wiiu virtual console

    For those who have watched the anime "Shinsekai Yori"

    After having watched the entire anime in a few days, am I the only one who noticed plenty of similarities between Mother series and Shinsekai Yori, specifically Mother 3?

    -Shinsekai has psychic powers, there's even people who can emit fire and create psychic shield force like the Mother characters

    -While not that similar, Shinsekai takes place in an idyllic society that seems utopian and almost little-to-no technology which reminds me of Tazmily

    -Although different goals, both Squealer and Porky are manipulative, pig-themed villains who ought to change the world

    -And lastly, Masked Man and the Messiah are both heavily brainwashed children who are groomed to be walking destructions and are used by the villains as tools to gain easy victory
