    (This is a discussion thread, I'm not betting on it happening. Please stay civil y'all.)

    So if you didn't hear the news, Nintendo just announced that they have localized the very first Fire Emblem to international audiences (the way they did the announcement was great btw. That NOT ANYMORE next to japan was so funny lol). This is huge for FE fans, and while I'm not huge with the series (played 3 houses and wanted to get the one with corrin in it) I definitely think this is super cool. I'm even considering getting it. However, I immediately started freaking out when thinking of what else this could lead towards, specifically a game that's been a Japan exclusive for a number of years as well one that's made by someone named itoi... yeah No.1 Fishing of course!

    Kidding.

    Anyways, this definitely opens the door to localization of other older games and releasing them separate from the online service. While this is only one game that's been released, this could possibly have a snowball effect. Maybe Nintendo is releasing some older games so they can have more releases this year? I thought I would make this thread for Mother 3 for discussion. I was just wondering if anyone else thought about M3 the moment they announced this. Stay civil, don't shoot others down, all that stuff.

    The FE1 localization is a good sign for a potential Mother 3 localization. It’s also going to be a limited release.

    About an hour ago, an official localization of Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & The Blade of Light was announced. this is a good sign for a lot of people- namely Mother 3 fans, as the YouTube comments are acutely aware.

    Just a few moments later, it was discovered that it would be a limited release akin to Super Mario 3D Allstars.

    I've never played the Mother games, but as a Fire Emblem fan who'd spent a good few moments incredibly excited for this localization, I think it raises a good question for Mother fans.

    What if Mother 3 followed this same pattern?

    You could argue that FE1 and 3DAS have excuses for this, being celebrations of an anniversary, but Mother 3's 15 year anniversary is this coming April, as far as I can tell.

    If this purely hypothetical official Mother 3 localization was a limited release, what would you do? Would you buy it?

    I know there were timing issues before, where the emulator made the timed hits very difficult to pull off. Is that still the case? Which emulators work properly for the game now?

    I've always had this idea in the back of my mind whenever I see those illusion pics online of the ones that constantly move despite being a still image. Be sure to make the image as big as possible for the full effect.
