    should I play earthbound or watch it?

    I finished mother 3 the other day, and become one of my favorite games of all time. I recently tried earthbound, but it was lacking a lot of the perks that mother 3 had.

    I played about 1.5 hours and I found that a lot of features were much more tedious compared to mother 3. (saving, healing to full health, hotels, hospitals, hints are expensive, storing items, no bike/run at the start of the game, etc, etc)

    I realize that earthbound is older than mother 3 and that's why it's the way it is, but I don't know if I can play 20+ hours with these tedious mechanics. I was considering watching a playthough of the game on youtube to allow me to enjoy the story and skip the tedious parts, but I feel like the experience will be different compared to if I played the game.

    is earthbound worth all the tedious parts to experience this story? or should I enjoy the story and not worry about anything else?

    If you have the EarthBound Zero ROM file on a memory card, you can play EarthBound Beginnings in Animal Crossing, you also need a black system due to the fact that this item scans for ROMs on your memory card and have an NES emulator on the memory card, it'll work if has an emulator and the game on the card (I've never tested but since EarthBound Zero was on the NES TK-69 cartridge it will work)
