    (MOTHER 3) All Special Dialogue After Losing to Bosses

    As many of you probably already know, there exists special dialogue for a good portion of MOTHER 3's bosses when confronting them for a rematch. They'll mainly gloat and/or taunt you in an amusing way, but in some cases they'll offer a hint or just say something weird.

    I wanted to read all of this unique text, so I lost to every boss in the game to see if anything changed. In the majority of cases, the cutscene is either condensed or left unchanged, but out of every boss there are 10 that offer new dialogue.     Or you can just read my breakdown by boss:

    -Note that to access these lines, you cannot simply reload a save after losing--you have to press "yes" when asked to try again-

    • Prologue Mole Cricket (first time)

    "Move it! Outta the way! Make way for the great Mole Cricket! I can't just sit idly by when I hear someone's play-fighting! I'm gonna wipe the floor with all of you! Get in my way and you're in for a world of pain!"

    • Prologue Mole Cricket (rematch)

    "You're pretty gutsy, I'll give you that. But you can challenge me to 100 fights and I'll still kick your butt each and every time!"

    • Zombies (first time)

    "Oh, my! Gggg… Is that you, Duster?! My, how you've gggggrown! Why, there's so much of you that I could eat for three days and three nights and still have leftovers! Gggeh ggeh ggeh!"

    • Zombies (rematch)

    "There's no escape… Ggeh gggeh ggeh gggeh!"

    • Mr. Passion (first time)

    "I am Mr. Passion. The music I am playing is 'Family Matters, 2nd Movement'. Listen thoroughly."

    ►No

    "This is what artistic know-nothings like you get!"

    • Mr. Passion (rematch)

    "Have you learned to comprehend my art?"

    ►Yes

    "Listen and marvel to your heart's content."

    ►No

    "Now I'm angry! Gwaaaaaarg!"

    • Oh-So-Snake (first time)

    Wess: "Yes, here we are. This is where I hid it. Duster. This is the 'certain important item' I had instructed you to bring back."

    -Long exposition, Pigmasks try breaking in the room-

    Kumatora: "Geezer! Duster! Let's get outta here!"

    Wess: "Princess! Please wait! I know it appears to be sitting there nonchalantly… But I placed traps around the egg!"

    Kumatora: "Huh? ...Traps?"

    Wess: "PRINCESSSSSSS!!!"

    Kumatora: "My bad."

    -Falls into boss' water nest, heroes talk when they resurface-

    Wess: "Oh, the egg! Oh, and Duster. Yes, all right! Well done! I've called you a moron 11 times so far, but I take it all back now! You're no longer a moron. Hurray!"

    Kumatora: "I dunno if I'd say 'hurray' just yet...

    • Oh-So-Snake (rematch)

    -Scene is drastically shortened, Kumatora grabs the egg right after Wess introduces it-

    Wess: "Princess! Please wait! You mustn't touch it recklessly… …?"

    -No dialogue when falling, heroes resurface without speaking-

    "Kumatora "I dunno if I'd say 'hurray' just yet…"

    • Jealous Bass (first time)

    "As you can plainly see, I am a wooden bass. I'm still in my prime. But ever since the bass below showed up, I've been left to rot in this moldy-smelling attic. I'm filled with so much frustration. I'm gonna turn this frustration into violence and take my stress out on you guys! You're gonna be bawlin' your eyes out!"

    • Jealous Bass (rematch)

    "Tonda Gossa! You can keep coming here a million times, and I'll just make you cry a bazillion times!"

    • Lord Passion (first time)

    "I am Lord Passion. The music I am playing is 'Ode to Ancestors, 8th Movement'. Listen thoroughly."

    "This is what artistic know-nothings like you get!"

    "Back for some more, huh?! Sure, I'll beat the snot outta you as many times as you want!"

    • Fierce Pork Trooper in combat suit (first time)

    "Yo. So you came all the way here to visit me, kiddos? You got the best of me last time only 'cause I was in my ordinary clothes… But now that I'm in my combat suit, it's 'Handle With Care' time!"

    • Fierce Pork Trooper in combat suit (rematch)

    "You're back, huh? I'm irritated beyond belief 'cause I missed my chance to buy a DCMC pamphlet. Graahh! I'm gonna take my anger out on you!"

    • Mr. Genetor (first time)

    "SUSPICIOUS INDIVIDUALS DETECTED INSIDE GENERATOR ROOM!"

    • Mr. Genetor (rematch)

    "MORE SUSPICIOUS INDIVIDUALS DETECTED INSIDE GENERATOR ROOM!"

    • Chapter 7 Mole Cricket (first time)

    "You ready to do this thing?!"

    ►No

    "Too bad! Quit complaining! The bell has rung!"

    ►Yes

    "Alright! I guess you have no care for your own life! The bell has rung!"

    • Chapter 7 Mole Cricket (rematch)

    "Now do you realize the strength of the mole cricket?! Huh? Wait a minute! Don't tell me you got wiped out on purpose?! Fight me seriously! C'mon, gimme your best shot! Are you ready?!

    • Hippo Launcher (first time)

    "It appears that you guys appear to be suspicious guys. I- I- I- I'll beat you up good! Go! Go! Get 'em, my Hippo Launcher!"

    "Back, are ya?! You guys really ARE suspicious! I- I- I- I'll beat you up good! Go! Go! Get 'em, my Hippo Launcher!"

    Haven't heard of this game since yesterday by accident, and decided to give it a shot. I think I'm kinda obsessed with the game. Can't wait to finish it.

    Great grinding spot in Mother 3

    I'm fairly new to the community so this might be a very well-known tip (in which case this post is kind of embarrassing) but here is what I think is the best grinding spot in the entire game.
    I definitely recommend you to get there during chapter 7, it will be easier.

    1 : In order to optimize all the XP earned, get to the chimera lab vending machine and buy as much "enemy bufferizer" as you can, give them all to boney !
    This item allows you to double the XP earned after a fight by strengthening an enemy, in that case, the difference is night and day.

    2/3 : Here's the spot on the map, it's an early game one so you shouldn't have much trouble getting there. Why this place particularly ? In fact, there is a fairly rare spawning chance of an enemy called "Black Beaning", (see screenshot 2). Whatever you do, DO NOT run over it, you can't catch it at first, it will dig to disappear for a few seconds, when you see it crawling back to the surface that's your chance !
    If it doesn't spawn, head to the exit on your left then turn back, repeat the process until it spawns. This generally doesn't take a long time, I rarely spend more than 15 tries before succeeding.

    4 : Once the battle started, you have to know that Black Beaning has very low HP but will most likely run away if you don't kill it quick. Use all of your strongest moves EXCEPT FOR BONEY.
    Remember when I said it was necessary for him to hold every "Enemy bufferizer" ? Since Boney is most likely your party member with the highest speed stat, he will use the item first, letting you 2x more XP. You should get around 32K XP each time you fight it with this technique, making it an easy and fast way to grind !

    This probably is a super famous trick everyone here knows, if that's the case, sorry for the inconvenience.

    What's the drop percentage of enemies in Mother 1/ Eathbound Beginnings?

    Despite the low drop rate of the Starman Super's Sword of Kings (Among the other 1/128 drops), I always found myself taking several days to find flamethrowers while grinding with B.B. Gang members. I can't find the data anywhere, so can anybody tell me the drop percentage (Preferably in a fraction format like 1/128)?

    I just fought Miracle Fassadand I want to get PSI Counter Ω to help beat him. Is the sewer the best place to grind, or is there another place I'm not aware of?

    Curious: Can you record the 4th Melody early?

    Curious if the game will spawn Tessie if you go back to Winters after getting Teleport and try heading there or if the game forces you to get Paula before it lets you.

    Has anybody played the game with slow text mode? I figure it would make the rolling health bar a lot less forgiving.
