    About to start my first playthrough

    Hi all. I am just about done with final fantasy 6 and I have never played EB (or any mother game) before. I've heard great things about it and thought I would give it a go.

    I thought I would try playing through cold. Is there anything I should know or read before a first playthrough? I obviously don't have the guide and am playing with a rom on a snes emulator.

    I've been streaming EarthBound once a week for a couple of months now and I just got to the Desert between Threed and Fourside. I'm not looking for spoilers about story beats going forward, but if anyone who's well versed with the game could help me out, roughly how far into the game would y'all say I am? I'm mostly just curious because when I tried playing the game for the first time when I was younger I honestly thought Fourside was close to endgame territory but it's starting to seem like that isn't the case at all lmao
