Psa: an earthbound farms moment, what is it?

    Posted: 08 Oct 2019 10:56 AM PDT

An earthbound farms moment is when something that is slighly related to earthbound is posted on the website

The reason why it is called that is because people always post pics of earthbound farms foods and think its an earthbound reference

[Spoilers] I've been spoiled, should I still play?

    Posted: 08 Oct 2019 04:26 PM PDT

Just like title says, literally just finished beating Earthbound, new top 5 favorite game of all time for me. So unique and such an enjoyable experience, so I immediately set to work totally legally acquiring a patch and Ron for mother 3. While searching I've had some pretty major things spoiled for me. I accidentally read comments on posts staying how you kill your brother at the end, as well as that the mother died at some point (cause when I got the game to work I looked up what Flint's special moves do and it autofilled to "mother 3 how does mother's name die". Now I'm taking these spoilers at face value that they're true and I gotta admit it's made me lose my will to play the game a bit. Went into EB blind and that's partially why I enjoyed it so much. So I ask all you people who've beaten both titles, is it worth playing anyway or is the story too centre to mother 3 to fully enjoy the experience?

Why do Ness and Lucas say PK instead of PSI in the Super Smash Bros. games?

    Posted: 08 Oct 2019 02:33 PM PDT

I ask this because, well, they localized it to PSI in EarthBound, so people who play them after playing EarthBound might think it's a mistake.

Earthbound & Pokemon Blue & Red

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 11:54 PM PDT

I did never play earthbound by myself, but I see a lot of similarities to the original Pokémon-games on the Gameboy. I guess it must have been a huge inspiration for PKMN Blue and Red. I find the look and feel quite simmilar. The sprites of Blue/Red look almost the same like Ness. The fact that you start at your home to travel to world, while fighting different opponents, or just the fact that you're able to ride a bike. I also wonder if the first version of Gygas in Mother 1 was the inspiration for Mewtwo. Did anyone notice any other similarities?

    Best Music

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 05:21 PM PDT

I've been listening to the soundtracks for each of the games and I was wondering which game you all think has the best music. After listening to all of them, I honestly think the original Mother has the best. It vastly overcame the limits of the NES, and sounds awesome even to this day. Many were obviously reused for the next game but there's something about the NES sound that leaves a smile on my face everytime.
