    Does Mother 3 get better?

    I'm two chapters into Mother 3 and not enjoying it much. It doesn't have the humor and charm that Earthbound did, and the pacing is slow: so much talking, so many cut scenes. It's just slow and dreary so far. Does that change? Should I still with it?

    This video has a beautiful track in it at the 8:25 mark and when I looked in the description It simply said it was Earthbound music and there is a whole lot of it. Could anyone please name this song if they do recognize it? Thank You!

    Ninten in the games is looks like Ness. It should be the other way around, but everyone thinks of Ness before Ninten.

    Fanart on the other hand base Ninten off of his commerical design: blue with yellow stripes and a bandanna on his neck. Some give him a beret, but I'm not sure why. Even most SSB models use that design.

    I've been wondering what they would do to Ninten if the games were remade.

    I recently finished mother 3 after playing the two other mother games. And I'm so glad I played the entire series, and not just earthbound or mother 3.

    Mother 1 was okay. It felt like a classic, grindy, super difficult NES RPG. But it had its charm, and wasn't a long game like earthbound.

    Earthbound is probably the most charming game I've ever played. Not in the sense that it's overly cute or innocent, but because you could tell the developers put so much effort and charm into it. I LOVED the humor. It's especially impressive how much character they added to otherwise generic NPC's. The story was simple but effective, and I love how the entire game was told from a child's perspective. Gameplay-wise, it was better than mother 1, but still had its flaws. But overall, it was just such a wacky and wonderful adventure.

    Mother 3 blew me away. It took everything I loved about earthbound, made it even better and added significantly more enjoyable gameplay and graphics. The game was very fun to play, and had a nice length compared to earthbound which I found to be slightly to long. It has the same mother humor and charm. But also adds an incredibly heartbreaking story. It's the story of a family being split up, technology ruining people's life and a boy experiencing things a person never should. Mother 3 is one of the only video games to ever have made me cry.

    But there's one moment in mother 3 I'll never forget. It was right after beating the natural killer cyborg. I was relieved, because it was a really hard boss. But then I entered the boat room. All the memories of earthbound, paired with pollyana, the main theme of mother 1 made me cry. Not tears of sadness like at the ending. But tears of joy. It felt like the culmination of everything the series had to offer, and just hit me so hard. It was then I realised the gratitude I had for playing the entire series.

    I love the mother series so much. It has made me laugh, made me cry, made me smile. I know it sounds cheesy, but I just felt like I had to show my appreciation towards Itoi, for giving us this incredible series of games. Thank you for reading.

    Which version of Mother 1 (Earthbound Beginnings) should I play?

    Currently playing Mother 3 and wanted to prepare myself for a playthough of Mother 1.

    I'm wondering which version to play. There are alot of versions and I would honestly like to play the original as the original is the real authentic version of the game. At the same time I would like to experience the story and not too much grinding. I'm aware of the Earthbound Zero easy patch and the Mother 25 Anniversary Edition but I can't decide and I need some help from the dedicated Mother fans here on Reddit.

    Which version do you believe I should play? Give me your opinion. I'll gladly read every comment and take each opinion into my decision. I'm going to play this on the NES Mini, which will be a blast I'm sure.
