    EarthBound and Psychedelics

    EarthBound captured the magic of psychedelics in a video game more perfectly than any other I've seen, and not just in the department of visuals, music, and trippiness but learning and growing as well.

    On Fourth of July after a night out and tripping on acid I decided to wind out and relax and ending up feeling like smoking some of the DMT I had, and I was immediately transported to this alien-looking, geometrical world. The trees, my phone, and everything around me had changed but still had a sense of familiarity to it. It hit me that everything looked like Moonside from EarthBound, and along with having some of the most intense yet beautiful CEV I've ever had, some resembling battle backgrounds from the game. It has me wondering if Itoi or anyone else apart of the game has had experience with psychedelics. Itoi is a huge Beatles fan, so who knows, I think it's highly likely Itoi has taken psychedelics at some point in his life. What do you guys think?

    Help Patching Rom Hack

    Hello!

    I recently downloaded this hack and it saved to my computer as a .ebp file. So I broke out Floating IPS to try and patch it, but it said "Error, not a bps file". Could someone help me with this, or, if you have one, lead me towards a prepatched version?

    Does anyone have the footage from Itoi’s Gold Mining TV Special?

    Hello! A lot of older fans will remember this, Itoi had a television special where he excavated a 500 year old gold mine at Mt. Akagi in hopes of finding some buried treasure. This is what the Dusty Dunes mole dungeon is based on in Earthbound!

    I just finished up Earthbound. I loved it and had the urge to replay it as soon as I finished it. I was wondering how good other mother games are and if people would recommend I play them. Or which would I should play first because I haven't played either

    Disclaimer: No this is not about the glitch.

    Not sure if anyone else finds this interesting, or even cares, but does anyone notice how shattered man's art style doesn't completely fit with the other enemies? All of the shading and lighting to the enemies in earthbound is very natural and is either a lighter or a darker shade of the base color. (minus recolored enemies) I find it odd though, that the artist would choose to use purple as shading for brown. There also seems to be kind of a lack of lighting and shading on his body. By no means am I saying he looks bad, just not the same as the other enemies. I'm also a pixel artist so Maybe I'm just thinking too hard about this, but I find it worth thinking about.

    My theories: 1. He might have been made before earthbound was started and they decided to use him. He may have even been intended to be used in mother because of the use of purple as shading and lack of color on the body. I'll compare him to the enemies from mother to see if he matches them later tonight.

    1. Kind of a cop out out theory but this is probably what most people reading this will think. That's just the way the artist decided to make him. Maybe just trying a different style.

    TL;DR Shattered man looks different than other enemies. Why might this be?

    I just beat Earthbound, it was an amazing game and I enjoyed it to pieces. But I kinda just rushed through stuff afterwards and talked to my mom and didn't really do anything afterwards. I noticed there wasn't a way to save, so I can't go back to after the fight Was there anything else to do after beat giygas or did I not mess out on anything?

    Has anyone got this to work and if so can you please share some tips? I can get the blank text box on occasion but to have not gotten anything to happen other than a black screen with ok star storm sound effects playing. Most of the time all I get is a bunch of qqqqqqq in my text box. Any help is greatly appreciated.
