Citizens of Earth

This game doesn't seem to have gotten enough attention, especially by the Earthbound Community.

While it is not quite as well written as Earthbound and does have some flaws, there are few games more of an inspirational successor than Citizens of Earth.

The game play is almost identical to Earthbound and the mechanics for the 40 playable characters and their combinations are fresh and fascinating.

The game is on supersale right now or was until just recently on PS4. I had played it a few years ago on PC and it feels well ported to the console without anything but minor bugs so far. Worth giving it a try, if only to explore the dozens of Earthbound references.
