Sorry if this has been asked before but I'm really curious to hear some thoughts. I would like to add, if him and a studio were given an opportunity, not any direct sequel to any Earthbound game but one that takes place in the universe, would you be okay if Toby Fox were to direct it? (The guy who made Undertale) so long as the story explored already established lore and expanded upon gameplay mechanics from any game in the series?

Earthbound Fan Translation

I'm planning on replaying Earthbound again for the first time in about 2 years, this time for the sake of writing a paper on both it and Mother 3 for my game design class. The paper is supposed to focus on the designer, in this case that is Itoi of course, and how their design and themes change across the games they made. Because there were a decent amount of changes in the localization of Earthbound and I don't want to accidentally miss out on any nuances of themes that were lost in making the game marketable in the US, I'm on the lookout for a good fan translation of Mother 2. Are there any of these that currently exist or would it be better to just play Earthbound and look into the localization changes separately?
