    Earthbound

    I really like earthbound so far! Ever since I bought it a few hours ago on my Nintendo 3ds I have been glued to it. I just beat Franky, and its pretty late now where I am so I decided I should stop, but I cant stop thinking about it, so I decided to make this post. It will drown in new but I dont really care. Can't wait to play some more tomorrow!

    Accidentally spoiled EarthBound Beginnings final boss fight. Should I still play the game? [PARTIAL SPOILERS]

    So I just finished EarthBound (Mother 2) for the first time last night and in my awe of the game, I was just researching for more fan info/theories about the game. In doing so, i accidentally stumbled upon a Wiki page that was detailing the ending of EB:B— yet was unaware that it was talking about EB:B instead of EB until it was too late. It was talking about how in the Mother 1 Giygas fight, no turn based moves are supposed to be even thrown and rather you are supposed to just play the eight melodies until Giygas suffers, muttering your name and such, until he misses his "mother" (or something along the lines of this) and fades/ runs away. I know that's likely a super dumbed down explanation of the ending— but I went from knowing absolutely nothing about the game to feeling like I spoiled the entire experience for myself. Please do not provide any more spoilers or information than what I just listed— but with my limited/exposed knowledge of the ending, is the game still worth playing? I wish I could go back and prevent myself from reading this information hahahaha.

    I think it's a little absurd the amount of censorships made. Ness being nude in magicant is understandable, but Threed originally being Threek and Montoli being monotoly, it makes no sense to censor these. It feels like Nintendo was paranoid with the overseas market and wanted to ensure that it wouldn't cause any controversy, even if it meant changing the original message

    If anyone wants the original experience I recommend a rom hack called "Maternalbound." It undoes all the censorship and is the most faithful experience.
