    So I've been intrigued in Earthbound since Smash Bros and have always wanted to play it. Not a fan of emulators and heard that the only official way outside of having a SNES and the game was to get the SNES Classic Mini thing.

    I actually had bought one when it first came out, but lent it to a friend to play. Well, turns out he lost it and the only place I could find it was on eBay for double MSRP.

    I didn't want to do that, so I began a search to try to find a decent deal on one. I scoured Facebook marketplace, OfferUp, Craigslist, etc. Finally, I found a European version of it for 5 bucks under MSRP. I pounced and was able to get it. Finally, I could play Earthbound.

    I was regaling my friends on Discord about my quest and how I could finally play it and said "I wish they would have just released it for the Switch. I would have loved to play it portably." My one friend then said "Yeah. You'd have to use your 3DS if you wanted to do that now."

    I'm sorry...WHAT!? I quickly googled and there it was: Earthbound on 3DS - $9.99.

    My 3DS just stared at me from 5 feet away on the shelf.

    I just finished playing the acid/mushroom trip part in mother 3 and I don't even have the words to describe how strange and disturbing it was. Like, seeing loved ones saying terrifying and weakening words to Lucas while also having boney growling and barking hysterically in the background. And also having that god damn hot tub actually being a muddy trash water pond. I'm honestly seeing why Nintendo won't release this game lol

    Starting Mother 3 for the first time and couldn't find a fan-translated instruction manual. Any quick, general tips?

    I'm the type that would spend all day reading an instruction manual before starting a GBA game as a kid, and am finally starting Mother 3 -- unfortunately, I can't find any kind of fan-translated or fan-made instruction manual that talks about general controls, menus, battle system, how leveling works, etc etc. Although the big walkthroughs I keep running into will probably be a lot of help later on, they're not what I'm looking for right now!

    I was able to find images of the original instructional manual, but not translated into English or anything. Is there anywhere I can find this?

    If not, got any general tips for a newbie? I've heard the game has a sort of rhythm-based battle system, which I'm especially interested in seeing, but is it just tapping A at the right time, like in Paper Mario?
